Food Safety and Security Training Coordinator
David Goldenberg joined the Western Institute for Food Safety & Security (WIFSS) in 2004 working on numerous food safety and food security projects. He currently teaches the Agroterrorism Preparedness Training for Frontline Responders; a six course food safety/security curriculum sponsored by the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC) which is funded by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Goldenberg is also involved with produce and feed safety efforts. He helped coordinate and co-teach FDA’s produce investigator’s course. He designed two table-top exercises integrating videos to enhance adult learning principles. He was responsible for organizing the produce hands on field exercises.
Goldenberg developed 18 high profile produce videos/fact sheets depicting growing, harvesting and packing practices that can be used to educate government inspectors and investigators. Goldenberg has extensive experience working with produce, poultry, livestock and seafood producers. He established two poultry food safety programs in 1994 that are still in operation today. He was also a member of the foreign animal disease Exotic Newcastle Disease (END) Task Force in 2002-2004.
