Overview

Graduate students can choose a member of the WIFSS faculty as their major professor for their masters and PhD education.

We use a unique, multi-disciplinary approach to explore the vehicles of pathogens responsible for zoonotic disease and foodborne illness. We also educate about emerging areas of food safety associated with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Students may enroll in a four-year program leading to the PhD that incorporates food safety, veterinary public health, comparative pathology, ecology, epidemiology, microbiology, food science, and pharmacology and toxicology. For a complete list of graduate programs at UC Davis see the Office of Graduate Studies. Full information about fees, application, or student support is available at the Graduate Studies site.
