Overview

Through our research, outreach, and educational programs, we enhance food safety and defense in all sectors of the food system from environment to consumer. We work to build capacity and conduct collaborative research with academics and public health agencies worldwide. We are rapidly building programs with public health agencies such as municipal centers for disease control, to improve surveillance of infectious diseases, toxic contaminants, build food safety investigation programs, and foster public health research at educational institutions across the globe. Our international outreach efforts are just one way we promote food safety and security worldwide and build strong partnerships between the University of California at Davis and international institutions.

One Health in China

We are working with Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) to establish a One Health Center for Food Safety and Animal Health in the Jiangsu Province of China. The joint Center addresses the complex global issues of recognition and control of new and re-emerging zoonotic diseases, and the provision of healthy foods for the world’s population.
