One Health in China

We are working with Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) to establish a One Health Center for Food Safety and Animal Health in the Jiangsu Province of China. The joint Center addresses the complex global issues of recognition and control of new and re-emerging zoonotic diseases, and the provision of healthy foods for the world’s population. Through its comprehensive education programs, the Center will help build the workforce for the expanding global food safety needs. We foster joint education, training, and collaborative research in food safety and security, animal health, environmental health, water safety, and public health. Pairing NAU and WIFSS faculty and students, we synergize research in agricultural and environmental sciences, preventive veterinary medicine, public health, food science and global studies. Our goal is to attain optimal health for people, animals, and the environment globally.

Additionally, we work with Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College to co-sponsor the One Health conferences aimed at building capacity for food safety, and animal and veterinary science.

One Health Club

The One Health Club at NAU was established by students who attended the inaugural NAU-UC Davis Graduate Education Conference on One Health held in the winter of 2015. These students come from diverse departments and colleges at NAU and are spreading the word about One Health in new and exciting ways.
